Author's Description:

Another morning briefing and some requests were made to go back over the previous days track. “more to come” was the reply.

Tarmac from Omeo for the first 50-60kms had us climbing to a Skifield where recent snow, ice and a very strong crosswind created the coldest conditions we have encountered so far!

A ‘shortcut’ on another single lane dirt track, with large sections of slippery snow and mud created ‘moments’ for most of us. In fact today probably had the highest number of incidents yet. From sliding off a bank, high-siding, thrown over the handlebars, the list continued to grow.

The track eventually made it’s way down to a beautifull township where most of us stopped to recover. In fact, today saw most of us stopping whenever we had the slightest excuse. I think, being the penultimate day, people are no longer keen to get to the end destination and are taking more time out to appreciate what they have achieved, with the realisation that the trip is nearly at an end.. can we go back and do it again???

As mentioned previously, I am now in the Hayfield Library and even on time!

Hayfield is another small town and we are currntly setting up in the sports field, looking for a good nights sleep after a challenging but fantastic day.
